A superb example retaining most of its original blue \u0026amp; gilt design to the single fullered blade. The blade is engraved with the “GR” cypher to one side which is surmounted by the Hanoverian Crown. The style of Royal Cypher would indicate the sword is by Henry Osborne 1798 see page 307 plate 28.1 The British Cavalry Sword by Richard Dellar. The blade has no chips and retains 85% Blue Gilt. The wire bound leather covered grip is in top condition. Superb scabbard totally dents free.
