EMB: 19th October 1914
Wounded in action at Cape Helles Gallipoli 8th May 1915 “bullet through chest”
Invalided to Australia discharging 2nd June 1916
Re-enlisted 4th June 1916 as service number 2297 Norman Sinclair Duncan with the 39th Battalion
Embarked second occasion on the 20th October 1916
Reduced to ranks and Detention for 6 months on the 7th July 1917 after accepting money to absent a soldier from parade
Discharged from Detention 8th December 1917
Committed to H. M. Prison Shepton Mallett 9th October 1918 for theft of 119 pounds
Released and scheduled to return to Australia but is again charged and detained this time for AWOL
Finally returning to Australia 1st January 1919 for discharge
Medals are shown initially not to be issued but later restored by permission of army order.
