Single : QUEENS SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899. impressed 5524 PTE R. ARNOLD SOMERSET: LT INFY
The following jewelers clasps are attached (in order as they appear)
"Cape Colony, Natal, Rhodesia, Relief of Mafeking, Defence of Kimberley, Talana, Elandslaagte, Defence of Ladysmith, Belmont, Modder River, Tugela Heights, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeburg, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Driefontein, Wepener, Defence of Mafeking, Transvaal, Johannesburg, Laings Nek, Diamond Hill, Wittebergen, Belfast, 1899 1900-1-2"
There are a total of 25 clasps with the last clasp "1899 1900-1-2" covering what would normally be "South Africa 1901" & "South Africa 1902" otherwise all official clasps are represented.
It is our belief that this would have been a museum type show piece of which Private Arnolds original medal was built upon. The Jewelers clasps are beautifully made and have that "old world" feel about them and there is no doubt that this was done a long time ago.
This would make a great show piece in any Boer War collectors display.
