A Very rare NSW Rifles cross belt and pouch with Lt. Infantry Bugle. Circa 1860
Very good condition $575
A very rare South Australian Officers 1822 pattern sword complete with scabbard by Wilkinson. Typical brass hilt with VR cypher in its steel scabbard. Quality etching to blade with Volunteer Infantry and SA (South Australia) under crown. Wilkinson’s records show this sword number 27838 was sold to the Agent General for South Australia Jan 25 1887.

A very rare Victorian silver hoof memorial inkwell to Lt. Francis Hervey Harford 10th Hussars. The base has a solid silver horse shoe and the top a fur cover opening to reveal the inkwell. There are three sets of matching hallmarks dating the piece to 1880, London. Thornhill & Co. makers, 144 Bond St. The piece in inscribed 'Bon Bon, 1st Charger, C.S.G. X. R. H. , In Memoriam F. H. H. March 31st 1879'
On the 31st of march in Afghanistan the 10th Hussars were involved in a tragic event crossing the Kabul river at Kala-i-Sak. Lt Harford, 46 N.C.O.s and men and thirteen horses were drowned in this disaster, which was subject of the famous poem by Rudyard Kipling. (below is a extract).

During the 19 century, farriers were required to remove a hoof from deceased horses as proof of death thus avoiding any suggestion of "black market" selling of horses.
SOLD
A very scarce 1853 British Cavalry trooper’s sword marked in the classic style for the state of Victoria. Complete with scabbard. Hilt clearly marked Va 201 and the scabbard is Va 207.This pattern sword is believed to be the first edged weapon to be marked with Colonial markings in Australia. This is an extremely scarce sword and has been purchased from a very old established collection.

A Victorian Blue Cloth Helmet, Tunic with belt and trousers to Lieutenant Colonel Sapwell circa 1880 who was CO of the 3rd NORFOLK Volunteer Rifles. The tunic is named and has all its buttons and quality collar badges (silver?) and rank insignia. Minor blemishes to be expected but overall, a nice display item.

A WW1 BAVARIAN ERSATZ LANCE CAP in amazing condition. Absolutely no moth or damage of any sort. Marked on inside of front peak BJ 111 over 1917. Exceptionally good original liner with no tears with correct Bavarian helmet plate original to the helmet. Complete with regulation single side cocarde, chin strap and correct helmet cockade. You simply could not find a better example of a pressed felt lance cap.

A WW1 PRUSSIAN ERSATZ LANCE CAP in exceptionally good condition completely made of metal construction. Complete with correct single cocarde, chin strap and helmet plate original to the helmet. It also has its original mortar board cocarde. Particularly good leather liner with no damage.

An 1878 pattern Gey Cloth helmet of the Eaton Volunteer Rifle Corps. True to pattern with helmet plate original to the helmet. Complete with chin chain. Some loss to the cloth nap but does not affect the colour or overall presentation.

An 1881-1901 Norfolk Regiment Helmet Plate in brass, laurel wreath surrounds the voided centre, the figure of Britannia seated is white metal and backed by red felt.
